Spotify launch Ad Studio: "The world's first audio self-serve advertising platform"

Music streaming site Spotify have launched Spotify Ad Studio, a new service that creates free audio adverts for brands. The service is designed to make it easier for SMEs to advertise on Spotify.

Brian Benedik, global head of sales at Spotify, explains, “Spotify Ad Studio opens that door to everyone. It’s an amazing opportunity for even more advertisers to build one-on-one relationships with our listeners.”

“With today’s launch, we are continuing our journey towards a full-scale advertising platform that allows advertisers to create, target, optimize and measure media that drives business outcomes,” says Khurrum Malik, Spotify’s global director of monetization product marketing. “The Spotify Ad Studio public beta is truly the first self-service ad platform that lets SMBs easily create an audio ad in minutes.”

Users are invited to upload a script and pick a background track and voice profile. Spotify Ad Studio then creates a fully produced audio ad in minutes. Spotify Ad Studio is only available at in the USA for now, and is in beta phase with a waiting list.

This is not the first time Spotify have offered audio branding services. Alongside audio advertisements, Spotify For Brands offers the opportunity to sponsor prominent playlists, while their SoundTrack Business also supplies background playlists and soundtracks to SMEs.

Spotify has over 140 million global users who each stream around 2 hours of music per day. In summer 2017, Spotify announced a revenue increase of 52%, and ad-supported revenue of 295 million euros
